Couples are sometimes surprised that I do engagement sessions–after all, I’m an elopement photographer! But the truth is, engagement pictures are just as valuable wether you’re eloping or going the traditional route–plus, it’s a great way to get to know your photographer and get comfortable in front of the camera!
This engagement session with Erin and Paul was long-awaited and so much fun! Although we had to reschedule from April all the way to October thanks to COVID, we ended up with the perfect cloudy, moody day–which was exactly what Erin had envisioned!
You’ll often hear me say that somehow the very best people find me and hire me. I say it so often because it’s absolutely true. These two were so down-to-earth and easy to talk to that this two-hour session flew by despite the freezing cold.
There’s some wisdom out there that it’s best to only wear neutrals to your engagement session in order for your pictures to turn out–this gorgeous clementine dress that Erin picked at Anthropologie is proof that wearing something you love is always the way to go.
The key to choosing the right color palette is choosing a muted or “burnt” colors and choosing tones that won’t wash you out. Or simply ignoring color rules altogether and just choosing whatever you want!
