Lacey & Andrew chose to celebrate their marriage with an intimate wedding in the woods. They have the kind of story a person can easily envy. As they both waited in line at a Lecrae concert with their respective groups of friends, they began chatting it up. The attraction was instant. Soon after, they began texting. After that, they went on countless coffee dates. And after that, they were inseperable.
As the girls got ready in their beautiful cabin, the dew and soft sunrise created a beautiful glow around the campgrounds. Thanks to a steady rain the night before, the moss and trees turned a deep, saturated green across the venue.
When it comes to planning a wedding, it can be hard to find the balance between keeping the traditional elements you’ve always pictured as a part of your day yet feeling the freedom to make it personal to who you are as a couple. Lacey and Andrew love going for breakfast and coffee dates more than anything, so they opted to have a morning ceremony with a full brunch following. If you’re okay with an early wake-up call for getting ready, morning ceremonies are a great option! They tend to feel more laid-back, and there’s no pressure to get everything on the timeline before the sun goes down. Just make sure you have a photographer who knows how to take knock-out portraits during the middle of the day!
After the final sprig of baby’s breath was fastened in Lacey’s hair (and after a few pre-ceremony hugs with Mom and Dad) we met Andrew the fountain overlooking one of the properties forested beaches. Both a little nervous previously, Lacey and Andrew couldn’t help smiling the rest of the day once they saw each other.
As the ceremony began, the fog rolled away and the sun shone in full force.
The rest of the afternoon was spent enjoying three full breakfast bars, an artistan mini-dessert bar, and of course, dancing, with close family and friends. Guests left the ceremony with a classic southern combo in hand: coke and peanuts!
P.S. I’ve gotten a lot of questions about Lacey’s dress. It was actually purchased right here in Springfield, Missouri at Norman’s Bridal.
