Alissa and Josh’s Big Cedar Lodge elopement was nothing short of beautiful, luxe, and rustic. While planning, Alissa hoped to capture the moody vibes that the Ozarks encapsulates in late winter. A Big Cedar Lodge elopement is always an elegant choice for the couple who wants to elope in the Ozarks with that quintessential rustic elegance.
One of the best ways to include your kids in your elopement day is to let them help you get ready! It’s a special time to spend with them before the ceremony, and it allows for plenty of opportunity for sweet candid shots.
Right before the ceremony, I happened upon Alissa and Josh in the chapel entrance, practicing their first dance. The moment was so quiet, intimate, and sweet, so I hid behind a staircase and snapped a few candids. I love finding unposed, secret moments to surprise my couples with.
As the ceremony began, a beautiful blue fog covered the epic Big Cedar Lodge landscape.
A Big Cedar Lodge elopement is perfect for the couple who wants to have a ceremony that captures the natural beauty of the Ozarks, without needing to stress about the weather or traveling between multiple venues to get ready, get married, and eat!
After the ceremony and portraits, the couple and their families headed to Big Cedar’s Top of the Rock fine dining restaurant, Osage Restaurant, for a custom champagne brunch. The toasts their parents gave them were some of the sweetest and most powerful I’ve ever heard–this portion of the day was truly about the two families coming together as one.
