Arkansas Elopement - Intimate Elopement in Rural Arkansas - Sable Photo Co. - Elopement Photographer

Arkansas Elopement Photographer — Two childhood friends turned soulmates secretly elope in the hills of Arkansas. Waterfalls and dogs included. Yep. If you’re into good love stories, secret ceremonies, or maybe just really fluffy dogs, then scroll on!

This whole elopement day was a simple, beautiful, family-filled love fest. Katherine and I first connected over our love for, of course, dogs, art, and tacos. Over a cup of coffee at Eurasia Coffee Co., Katherine told me all about her and Isaiah’s love story. Both the youngest of families of seven (yep!), their families became inseparable friends when they were young. What started out as a childhood crush became a love story when these two reconnected later in life.

Despite wanting something smaller, they had originally planned a more traditional wedding later in the year. But, as COVID swept across the nation and a lot of life became unsure for most of us, they decided they really just wanted to be married. So, they reached out and asked if I’d be willing to photograph a secret Arkansas elopement on a family friend’s private property.

Family was such an important aspect of Katherine & Isaiah’s story, so their parents joined for the ceremony and even threw a surprise picnic after we had finished hiking around and taking portraits. I often hear from couples that they would love to elope, but they can’t imagine getting married without their mom or dad there. I just want to say, you can 100% elope with family present! In fact, if getting to spend time with family on your wedding day is important to you, then you’ll find that keeping things intimate allows you more opportunity to enjoy and connect with them.

After family portraits were done, I stole Katherine & Isaiah away for some alone time. We walked around the property and soaked up the last bit of golden hour.

And because it’s not an Arkansas elopement without one, we stopped by this private waterfall after the sun had just gone down.
